Thousand Oaks, CA (May 31, 2013), TECOM, a Smiths Microwave business, today announced that the KuStream® 1000, a Ku band aeronautical SATCOM antenna system, has achieved over 3 million flight hours of service.  


The KuStream® 1000 enables transmission and reception of RF communications with Ku band satellites enabling WiFi and other broadband high speed in-flight services within the aircraft.  The bi-directional antenna system consists of the Satellite Antenna Assembly that mounts on the top of the aircraft fuselage under a radome, along with the Antenna Control Unit and High Power Transceiver mounted inside the fuselage.
